Best known as Carrie A. Nation because of his second husband David Nation. (She said it meant "Carry A Nation for Prohibition") She was an anti-alcohol activist and a radical member of the temperance movement. She is particularly noteworthy for destroying taverns and bars with her hatchet (and always with her bible in hand).
